DISCOVER exists to help students know their strengths and weaknesses, grow in knowledge and understanding, and show application of strategic learning.

Our Vision

DISCOVER envisions a place in which every learner experience academically and spiritually supportive relationships, which in turn, allows each student to discover God’s divine design for them and reach their God-given potential.

DISCOVER strives to provide many opportunities for student growth and enrichment. This program is designed to meet the needs of all students on all different academic levels. This program considers the whole child and the child’s current levels of functioning. From students demonstrating need for academic support who are significantly below grade level to students showing the need for challenge who operate significantly above grade level, DISCOVER has programs to meet each student’s needs.

Mrs. Chavez has worked in DISCOVER for two years. She has 8 years of experience working in public schools in Nicaragua integrating education standards and biblical teaching. Mrs. Chavez has tutored PK-college age kids in all subject areas, worked as a classroom assistant, and was a substitute teacher for Stockdale Christian School.

Mrs. Gouk has been a Speech and Language Pathologist for 12 years. She specializes in Speech Sound Disorders, Language Delays and Literacy- Based Therapy.

Mrs. McDonald is a credentialed teacher and has 4 years of experience teaching in the classroom. She has taught Kindergarten, 1st grade and 2nd grade. Mrs. McDonald has worked in DISCOVER for two years as an Educational Therapist and reading assistant.  Currently Mrs. McDonald is working towards earning her Masters of Science in Education for Literacy with Dyslexia Endorsement.

Mrs. Mudrow has 30 years of experience in education and 4 years of experience as an    educational therapist. She has extensive classroom experience in kindergarten, second grade, and fifth grade. Currently, Mrs. Mudrow is working toward her PhD in special education.

This is Mrs. Truelson’s 2nd year working in Discover. Mrs. Truelson has 2 years of experience working for the Rosedale School District as an instructional aide, in their special education program, as a reading specialist. She also has 2 years of experience at Stockdale Christian School as a classroom aide, 2nd grade reading support, and 1st-5th substitute teacher.
