Our Curriculum

First Grade

First Grade at Stockdale Christian School

Each first grade student will receive a brief review of the skills and concepts developed in kindergarten. Under the loving direction of a teacher, the first grade child proceeds into an expanded learning environment of Bible, reading, phonics, writing (manuscript), spelling, mathematics, science, social studies, music, art, and physical education.

The first grade classroom has a variety of supplemental books and materials along with manipulative toys and games. Students also experience outside field trips and visits from parents and community workers with experience in areas of special interest. Students also enjoy trips to the school library.

Second Grade

Each second grade student will receive a brief review of the skills and concepts developed in first grade. Under the loving direction of a teacher, the second grade student participates in Bible, reading, phonics, language arts (writing, spelling and grammar), mathematics, science, social studies, music, art, and physical education.

The second grade classroom has a variety of supplemental books and materials. Students also enjoy trips to the school library. Field trips and community speakers are used for enrichment purposes as well.

Third Grade

Third Grade at Stockdale Christian School

Each third grade student will receive a brief review of the skills and concepts developed in second grade. Under the loving direction of a teacher, the third grade student participates in bible, reading, language arts (writing, spelling and grammar), mathematics, science, social studies, music, computer, art, physical education, and health.

The third grade classroom has a variety of supplemental books and materials along with manipulative toys and games; students also have access to the school library and computer lab. Field trips and community will be used for enrichment purposes as well. Some field trips include Kern County Fair, Kern County Museum and the Fresno Zoo.

Fourth Grade

Fourth Grade at Stockdale Christian School

Each fourth grade student will receive a brief review of the skills and concepts covered in third grade. Under the loving direction of a teacher, the fourth grade student receives guidance in developing independent and self-directed classroom work habits. The student participates in a full range of curriculum offerings including: Bible, reading, language arts (writing, spelling, and grammar), mathematics, science, social studies, music, art, physical education, computer, and health.

In addition to regular classroom instruction, students will be exposed to videos, maps and globes, slides, transparencies, library, computer lab, reading lists, and special speakers. The following programs and field trips also enrich the fourth grade curriculum; Walk through California, Walk Along the El Camino Real, trip to La Purisima Mission and an over-night stay at Fort Tejon.

Fifth Grade

Fifth Grade at Stockdale Christian School

Each fifth grade student will receive a brief review of the skills and concepts covered in fourth grade. Under the loving direction of a teacher, the fifth grade student assumes an expanded role for self-direction and independent classroom study. The student participates in a full range of curriculum offerings including: Bible, reading, language arts (writing, spelling, and grammar), mathematics, science, social studies, music, art, physical education, computer, and health.

In addition to regular classroom instruction, students will be exposed to films, filmstrips, maps and globes, slides, transparencies, the library, the computer lab, reading lists, and special speakers. The following programs and field trips also enrich the fifth grade curriculum: Walk through the American Revolution, trips to CALM, and the Reagan Library.

Our Facility

Our elementary school consists of 10 classrooms with 2 classrooms per grade levels 1st-5th. Each classroom consists of no more than 24 students in each room. Our classrooms are spacious and equipped with technology to teach students in the 21st Century. Our elementary playground is equipped with a large play yard with a play structure with shade, climbing toys, swings, slides, basketball courts, kickball courts, volleyball courts, GaGa ball pit, and tether ball courts.

Our Mission

Our Elementary School Program exists to educate students from Christian families, leading students to believe in Jesus Christ as their Savior, achieve excellence, and serve others.
