Importance of Truth

Meet Whitney Yates
SCS Class of 1999
Whitney Yates began her Stockdale Christian education in the second grade and graduated in 1999. She went on to graduate from CSUB with a major in Political Science and worked as a Constituent Representative for Congressman Kevin McCarthy. She has recently joined our staff at SCS and now works as Admissions Coordinator and in our Middle School. Whitney and her husband, Joshua, have two children who also attend SCS.
I left SCS with a solid understanding and foundation of biblical principles that I carried with me through high school, college, and adulthood. I had several professors in college that challenged my worldview, but I remained unshaken because of the truth that was taught at SCS.
Q&A with Whitney:
What is your favorite memory of SCS
“My favorite memory at Stockdale Christian was being in Mrs. Picking’s 4th grade class. She is an incredible teacher who places Christ at the center of education, sets high academic standards, and makes learning an exciting experience. The best part of the year was our overnight field trip to Mariposa where we mined for gold. Mrs. Picking still teaches 4th grade at SCS and it was so incredibly special to me that both of my kids had her as their 4th grade teacher.”
how did the education you received at SCS prepare you for Success?
“The main reason that my husband and I wanted our kids to attend Stockdale Christian is the school’s commitment to objective truth. We knew that the truth, whether in Bible, Science, or History, would not be twisted or recreated to fit an agenda. As a student at Stockdale Christian, I experienced first hand the benefits of receiving a biblical education centered on truth.”
